The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie – The story is narrated by Tom Wingfield, who looks back on his life as a young man living in a cramped apartment with his mother, Amanda, and sister, Laura. Abandoned by their father years prior, Tom works at a shoe warehouse to support the family, though he loathes the job and escapes through movies and poetry. Amanda, a former Southern belle, clings to memories of her youth and is obsessed with finding a “gentleman caller” for Laura, who is physically disabled and pathologically shy.
