The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer – is a coming-of-age story set in the 1840s in the fictional town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. It follows the spirited, mischievous escapades of young Tom Sawyer, an orphan who lives with his Aunt Polly and half-brother Sid.  After getting into a fight, Tom is punished with the task of painting a fence on a Saturday. He cleverly convinces other neighborhood boys that the chore is actually a rare privilege, tricking them into doing the work for him and even paying him with small treasures.
