MRS Dalloway

MRS Dalloway  – The novel begins with Clarissa Dalloway, a 51-year-old high-society woman, heading out to buy flowers for a party she is hosting that evening. Her walk through Westminster triggers a flood of memories, particularly of her youth at Bourton and her relationships with Peter Walsh and Sally Seton. In a different part of the city, Septimus Warren Smith, a World War I veteran suffering from severe “shell shock” (PTSD), spends his day in Regent’s Park with his wife, Lucrezia. Septimus experiences vivid hallucinations of his dead friend Evans and struggles with the cold, dismissive treatment from his doctors, Dr. Holmes and Sir William Bradshaw.
