Joseph Andrews – Joseph Andrews, the virtuous brother of Pamela, serves as a footman to Lady Booby. After her husband’s death, Lady Booby attempts to seduce Joseph, but he steadfastly refuses to protect his chastity. Infuriated by his rejection and false rumors of his misconduct, she fires him. The crisis is resolved when it is revealed that Joseph was actually a “changeling” stolen from his real parents, the kindly Wilsons. A strawberry mark on Joseph’s chest confirms his identity as Mr. Wilson’s long-lost son. With their true parentage established, Joseph and Fanny are finally married by Parson Adams.
