Abhijnana Sakuntalam

Abhijnana Sakuntalam – While on a hunt, King Dushyanta visits the hermitage of Sage Kanva and falls in love with his foster daughter, Shakuntala, the child of the sage Vishwamitra and the nymph Menaka. They marry in secret via a Gandharva (love) marriage. Years later, a fisherman finds the ring inside a fish and brings it to the king. Upon seeing it, Dushyanta’s memory returns, and he is overcome with grief. Eventually, while assisting the god Indra in a celestial war, Dushyanta discovers Shakuntala and their young son, Bharata, in a celestial hermitage. The family is joyfully reunited.
