Love for Love

Love for Love  – The play centers on the character of Valentine Legend, a young gentleman who has squandered his inheritance and is deeply in debt. To escape his financial predicament, his father, Sir Sampson Legend, offers him £4,000 to pay his debts, provided Valentine signs away his right of inheritance to his younger, sea-captain brother, Ben Legend. Valentine initially agrees but, realizing the extent of the sacrifice, attempts to get out of the deal.
