The Jungle Books

The Jungle Books  – The book is a collection of short stories, each preceded and succeeded by a piece of verse. While the Mowgli stories are the most famous, the collection includes other well-known tales as well. This first story introduces Mowgli, rescued from the tiger Shere Khan and adopted by a wolf family, including Father Wolf, Mother Wolf (Raksha), the bear Baloo, and the black panther Bagheera. He is accepted into the pack under the leadership of Akela, who teach him the “Law of the Jungle”.
