Animal Farm

Animal Farm – is a seminal allegorical novella and a political satire on the Russian Revolution and the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. It uses a simple fable about farm animals to explore themes of power, corruption, and the failure of revolutionary ideals. The story is set on Manor Farm, owned by the neglectful and often drunk Mr. Jones. An aged, respected boar named Old Major gathers the animals and inspires them with his vision of a world free from human tyranny, teaching them the revolutionary song “Beasts of England”. After Old Major’s death, two pigs, Snowball and Napoleon, assume command and lead a successful rebellion, renaming the farm “Animal Farm”.
