Ashoka Satrap of Taxila – is the second book in a historical fiction trilogy about the Mauryan emperor Ashoka, written by the acclaimed Indian author Ashok K. Banker. The novel explores the prince’s life and the complex political intrigues that molded him into a great warrior. The book, published in 2017 by Westland, continues the saga started in the first book, Ashoka: Lion of Maurya. It focuses on the time when Prince Ashoka is dispatched to the city of Taxila with his brother Sushim to handle a rebellion. When Ashoka arrives in Taxila, he is enraged by the brutality of the Pashtun rebels and their disrespect for the Mauryavansh, leading him to deliver swift and bloody justice with his sword.
