Hamlet

Hamlet – On the battlements of Elsinore, the Ghost of King Hamlet appears to the guards and later to his son, Prince Hamlet. The Ghost reveals he was murdered by his brother, Claudius (who has since married the Queen and taken the throne), and demands revenge. Hamlet decides to feign “antic disposition” (madness) to investigate Claudius without raising suspicion. Meanwhile, Polonius, the Lord Chamberlain, believes Hamlet’s madness stems from his unrequited love for Ophelia.
