Heart of Darkness

Heart of Darkness – The story is told as a frame narrative: an unnamed narrator listens to the sailor Charles Marlow recount his journey into the Belgian Congo while they are anchored on the River Thames in London. Marlow is hired by a Belgian trading company to pilot a steamship up the Congo River to retrieve Mr. Kurtz, a legendary ivory trader rumored to be ill.
