Mansfield Park – At age ten, Fanny is sent to Mansfield Park to alleviate her mother’s financial burden. She is treated as a “dependent poor relation” by most of her family, including her cruel Aunt Norris and her spoiled cousins. Only her cousin Edmund Bertram shows her genuine kindness, helping her adjust to her new life. Over time, Fanny’s gratitude for Edmund evolves into a secret romantic love.
