Rider to The Sea  – is a tragic one-act play about the harsh life and constant loss faced by Maurya, an old woman on the Aran Islands, whose husband, father-in-law, and all six sons have been taken by the sea, culminating in the death of her last son, Bartley, highlighting themes of fate, nature’s relentless power, and acceptance of sorrow in the face of inevitable tragedy.
