The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie – G. Vaidyanathan is the author of a critical study and notes for the original play The Glass Menagerie, which was written by American playwright Tennessee Williams. The play is set in St. Louis during the Depression era and focuses on the Wingfield family: Amanda (the mother), Tom (the son and narrator), and Laura (the shy, physically disabled daughter who retreats into her collection of glass animal figurines). The plot revolves around their struggles and Amanda’s attempt to find a “gentleman caller” for Laura.
