The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie  – Tom, an aspiring poet trapped in a dead-end shoe warehouse job, supports his overbearing mother, Amanda, and his painfully shy, physically disabled sister, Laura. Amanda clings to her past as a Southern belle, while Laura retreats into a “glass menagerie”—a collection of fragile glass animal figurines. Desperate to secure Laura’s future, Amanda pressures Tom into bringing home a “gentleman caller”. Tom invites his coworker Jim O’Connor, who turns out to be the boy Laura had a secret crush on in high school.
