Description
The World of Nagaraj – is a 1990 novel by the Indian author R.K. Narayan, set in the fictional South Indian town of Malgudi. It is a character study and a satirical exploration of the protagonist, Nagaraj, a contentedly aimless man whose tranquil life is disrupted by the arrival of his nephew. Nagaraj is a middle-class man who lives in his ancestral home on Kabir Street with his wife, Sita. He leads a leisurely existence, sustained by inherited wealth, and fills his days with simple pleasures: drinking coffee, doing occasional, non-remunerated bookkeeping for a friend’s “Boeing Sari Company,” gossiping with neighbors, and planning to write an ambitious book about the life of the mythical sage Narada.
