Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights  – The story is told through multiple layers of narration, primarily by the housekeeper  to a tenant named Mr. Lockwood. Mr. Earnshaw brings the orphan Heathcliff to Wuthering Heights. While Catherine and Heathcliff become inseparable soulmates, Catherine’s brother, Hindley, abuses and demotes Heathcliff to a servant. Believing a marriage to the lowly Heathcliff would “degrade” her, Catherine marries the wealthy Edgar Linton. Heartbroken, Heathcliff flees, returning years later as a wealthy man to exact revenge on both the Earnshaw and Linton families.
